About Newtown Angling Club
Newtown Angling Club, based in the Bracknell area, draws its membership from all over the South of England.
The Club originally formed in the mid-1960s, amalgamated with the membership of Bracknell Avocets Angling Society (BAAS) in 2019. Members of Newtown Angling Club enjoy inclusive BAAS membership.
The inclusive BAAS membership entitles Club members to fish Thames Valley Angling Association (TVAA) waters.
The Club also enjoys affiliation to the Reading & District Angling Association (RDAA) for match venue bookings, An RDAA permit, purchased directly from RDAA, is required to fish RDAA waters.
These affiliations entitle Club members access to a comprehensive range of coarse fisheries for both pleasure and competition angling.
The Club holds regular outings to RDAA venues, mainly on the River Kennet and the Kennet & Avon Canal between Reading and Froxfield. We also fish their stretches of the River Thames at Sonning, Wallingford, Sandford Wier and Northmoor as well as a number of their gravel pits at Pingewood, Theale and Newbury - all first class waters with good sport and quality fish of all species. Outings to TVAA and other waters are also included on the Club's itinerary.
The Club holds regular match fixtures with competitions and trophies being competed for throughout the season.
As and when required, Club meetings are held at the "Binfield Club", Binfield, Bracknell, Berkshire. All Club members are notified of Club meetings and are welcome to attend all Club meetings.
